GOLDEN RHINO SAFARI

Out of the mist of the past, rises the newest National Park of South Africa - Mapungubwe, at the meeting point of South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. Home of ancient civilization and birth place of the recent discovery of a Golden Rhino-statue which lay in a royal grave when Mapungubwe was abandoned by its king and people around the 1300's. Probably due to climatic change.
This exciting tour is new on the South African Safari calendar.

Day 01:  Arrive Johannesburg international airport, met by African Outposts and transfer to the Fallstaff Inn for overnight.

Day 02 After breakfast we depart north through scattered giant baobab trees and head for Mapungubwe Park where we visit Mapungubwe Hill, where the ancient king lived in seclusion from his people.
This kingdom (1300s) was the fore runner of the Zimbabwe civilization and was the first kingdom in Southern Africa and derived its power from control of trade to the Indian Ocean.
